What is Remembered, Lives.

 Medusa

Medusa was a co-founder of A Fool’s Journey who died in late Spring, 2020, after a 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. She guided and participated in our retreats every year, and we firmly believe that she still will. She is always in our heart. Below is her bio:

Hello, everyone. I have been practicing the Craft since the mid-nineties. I am both a Reclaiming and a Feri initiate. I also teach both traditions. I have taught at British Columbia and Spiral Heart Witchcamps. I have always had a connection with the Ancestors and the Beloved Dead. Four years ago and counting I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. My battle with cancer has deepened my understanding of what it means to face death and yet be fully alive. I have been married to my soul mate for over twenty years. I have reared two children to young adulthood. My core tenets as a witch, priestess and human being are practice, integrity, and trust based on experience. I do not believe in faith or hope. The gods are not naturally benevolent, but they will work in relationship. Life is brief and hard stuff happens. Therefore, it is my responsibility to my godself and loved ones, living and dead, to practice gratitude, find joy, and bask in it whenever it is offered.

Panthera

Panthera, Medusa, and Robin had done magic together in a circle for many years before Fools Journey began. Fern and Oak were housemates who had been making and teaching magic together for years. When the idea of Fool’s Journey was born in Oak and Fern’s living room, the two groups came together. Panthera offered to do the organizational tasks for the event as well as priestess. She kept our accounts and had a marvelous right brain which we very much needed. She was instrumental in putting on the first four Fools Journey retreats, after which she moved to Oregon. She passed away in 2019 and is dearly missed.
